LAWRENCEVILLE -- A Norcross man was sentenced to 25 years in prison Friday after a jury found him guilty of helping a 14-year-old girl become a prostitute.

After a four-day trial in Gwinnett County Superior Court, Airick Creighton, 20, was convicted on charges of aggravated child molestation and pimping a minor. Authorities said Creighton, originally arrested on Aug. 8 of last year, brought a 14-year-old girl from Atlanta to Gwinnett, rented a hotel room in Norcross and helped the teen advertise prostitution services online.

"The evidence revealed Creighton provided the minor with a computer, two cell phones, and a motel room to engage in prostitution," Chief Assistant District Attorney Dan Mayfield said. "Further evidence revealed that Creighton collected money from the minor, and Creighton engaged in an act of sodomy with the minor."

Senior Judge Dawson Jackson sentenced Creighton to a mandatory minimum of 25 years in confinement, to be followed by life on probation and permanent status as a registered sex offender
