BUFORD -- Aubrey Daniels, an eighth grader at Buford Middle School was the recent winner of the Buford City School's districtwide spelling bee.
He will now go on to the District 3 competition scheduled for 10 a.m. Feb. 23 at North Gwinnett High School.
A former teacher of his, Marcia Barnes, said Daniels is "a fabulous, smart student."
Runner up from the Buford City Schools spelling bee was Marissa Bruce.
Barnes said that the spelling bee went 11 rounds. Daniels and Bruce went head to head for four rounds at the end of the event, with Daniels emerging the victor.-- From staff reports

Congrats! A great achievement. I wonder how many "sports" players finished in the top 10.
