SUWANEE — Carter Clinebell at 145 pounds and D.J. Coker at 285 pounds won individual titles and Greater Atlanta Christian won the Lambert Hook’em Classic wrestling tournament on Saturday.
The Spartans scored 278 points to outdistance host and runner-up Lambert (228.5). Other Gwinnett Schools to participate included Grayson (fourth-place), Collins Hill JV (sixth), North Gwinnett (10th), Berkmar (15th) and Buford and Duluth, who tied for 17th.
Other place winners for GAC included a runner-up finish from Josh Snyder (152), Wyatt Vaughn (126) and Kyle Politz (132) placed third. Gunnar Nelson (195) finished fourth, while Justin van Leeuwen (106), Emeritus Morris (138) and Aiden Jarrett (182) placed fifth.
Other Gwinnett champions included the Berkmar duo of Mamadou Aoumahoro (195) and Ethan Castaneda (152).
Mountain View finishes
second on tiebreaker
ASHEVILLE, N.C. — The eighth tiebreaker was the unkindest on of all as Mountain View placed second at the Jon Johnson Duals on Saturday. The Bears (20-4) won their first four matches defeating Madison, N.C. (69-6), AC Reynolds, N.C. (57-13), Swain, N.C. (67-6) and Northwest Whitfield (37-36).
In the Championship match against host Pisgah, N.C., the teams tied at 36. It took until the eighth tiebreaker for the victory to be awarded to the hosts. Six wrestlers went undefeated at the meet. Justin George (120), Adam Flatt (126), Alonzo Reyes (132), D.J. Schrenk (145), Jacob Serelis (160) and Octavian Jarda (182) all finished with 5-0 records.
Meadowcreek finishes third
DOUGLASVILLE — Despite only fielding nine wrestlers, Meadowcreek placed third at the Alexander Invitational wrestling tournament on Saturday. Malik Saunders (113), Adeniyi Henderson-Harden (152) and Ryan Moore (195) took home individual titles.
Edy Padilla (106), Raymond Washington (126) and Nighee Eddington (145) finished third for Meadowcreek.
Parview finishes fifth
SHILINGTON, Pa. — Parkview finished fifth of 16 teams at the Governor Mifflin wrestling tournament on Saturday. The Panthers, led by tournament champion Kamal Shakur (145), finished with 116 points. Shakur was also named outstanding wrestler of the tournament. Other placers included Andrew Webb (3rd-138), Alex Pham (6th-182) and Reese Dalton (7th-106).
Mason County (Ky.) 34
DAYTONA, Fla. — Dacula defeated previously undefeated Mason County (10-1) 51-34 in the Sunshine Classic on Saturday. Cam Moye led the Falcons (9-3) with 16 points and nine rebounds. Kevon Tucker chipped in 15 points and 10 rebounds while Keshawn Gibbs added 10 points for Dacula.
North Gwinnett 67, Buford 51
CHARLESTON,S.C. — North Gwinnett and Buford traveled 323 miles to face each other in the semifinals of the Rotary Roundball Classic. North Gwinnett defeated the Wolves 67-51 to reach the finals on Monday.
Kamaran Calhoun led the Bulldogs (13-1) with 18 points. T.J. Howard had 17, Malik Carter added 16 and Ahmad Caver had 12 points for North.
Archer 75, Walnut Grove 61
WALNUT GROVE — Archer advanced to the finals of the Walnut Grove Holiday Tournament by defeating the hosts, 75-61 Saturday night. Kwei Lartey led the Tigers (6-7) with 26 points. Darrion Taylor had 13 and Aleem Ford added 10 points for Archer, who will face Athens Christian in Monday’s championship game.
GAINESVILLE — Parkview defeated Chattahoochee 60-44 to finish in third place at the Big Red Shootout on Saturday. Malik Abraham led the Panthers (7-6) with 20 points and was named to the All tournament team. Parker Role had 17 points and Desmond Davis added 12 for Parkview.

DAHLONEGA — Mountain View defeated Central Carroll 58-43 in the North Georgia Holiday Tournament on Saturday. Paul James led the Bears with 20 points and Deante Harris added 14 for Mountain View (2-10).
GAC 68, Hamilton (Tenn.) 59
BRISTOL, Tenn. — Garrett Covington scored 23 points to lead unbeaten Greater Atlanta Christian to a 68-59 victory over Hamilton (Tenn.) on Saturday night and a spot in Monday’s semifinals at the Arby’s Classic. Isaiah Wilkins had 18 points and Tyler Hamilton scored 12 for the Spartans, who defeated Tabernacle Baptist of the Grand Bahamas 58-48 on Thursday in the first round.
Norcross 87, Mullins (S.C.) 48
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — William Gibbons and A.J. Farrar each went 3-for-4 on 3-pointers as Norcross routed Mullins (S.C.) 87-48 on Saturday to even its record at 1-1 in the Beach Ball Classic.
Farrar finished with 15 points and Gibbons had 13. Tim Cameron scored 10 for Norcross (8-4), which made 10 of 17 3-pointers and shot 61.4 percent overall.
Norcross fell 50-46 to Bishop Loughlin (N.Y.) in the opening round on Friday night despite 13 points by Khalen Pinkett and 10 points from A.J. Bush.

United Faith (N.C.) 53
BRISTOL, Tenn. — Sophomore point guard Aaron Augustin scored 18 points and hit the tie-breaking foul shot with 22.4 seconds left and Peachtree Ridge hung on for a 54-53 victory over United Faith Christian (N.C.) in the Arby’s Classic late Friday night.
Brandon Johnson, a senior forward, played for the Lions despite the death of his mother on Christmas, and had nine points and six rebounds.
United Faith, coached by Muggsy Bogues, had three shots in the final seconds, but all spun out as Peachtree Ridge completed the comeback from a 9-0 deficit. United Faith didn’t have a basket for the first 11 minutes of the second half.

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. — Archer improved to 12-0 and advanced to the semifinals with a 64-41 win over Franklin county at the LandAir Lay’s Classic on Saturday. Amber Skidgel led the Tigers with 18 points. Kayla Rogers and Linsey Marchese added 14 and nine points respectively.

WALNUT GROVE — Greater Atlanta Christian advanced to the championship game of the Walnut Grove Christmas Tournament with a 50-38 win over George Walton Academy on Saturday.
Brianna Cummings led the Spartans (11-3) with 23 points while Sydni Means chipped in 15 points for GAC.
Collins Hill 48, Lambert 37
JASPER — Sydney Brown scored 18 points to help Collins Hill to a 48-37 win over Lambert in the Pickens County Holiday Classic. Kyra Dixon had 10 points and eight rebounds while Brittany Stowers pulled down 11 rebounds and Jazmin Smith added eight points for the Eagles (9-4).

GAINESVILLE — A Gainesville shot at the buzzer was no good and Buford held on to win the title at the Big Red Shootout by defeating the hosts 33-31 Saturday night. Tournament MVP Camille Anderson led the Wolves (9-4) with 12 points.

CHATANOOGA — Peachtree Ridge hit its free throws down the stretch and advanced the championship game of the Hixon Wildcat Holiday Tournament by defeating Fort Payne (AL) 42-40 Saturday.
Lorrie Cruse led the Lions (7-4) with 13 points. Kendra Purifoye and Marisa Bowman scored 10 and eight respectively for Peachtree Ridge who will face Dobyns Bennett of Tennessee in Monday’s championship game.
Dacula 44, Wando (S.C.) 27
CHARLESTON, S.C. — Dacula advanced to the championship game of the Carolina Invitational with a 44-27 win over Wando Saturday night. Faustin Aifuwa led the Falcons with 16 points and 13 rebounds. Jonnae Johnson and J’Nai Owens each had eight points. Dacula will play West Charlotte in Monday’s title game.

DAHLONEGA — North Gwinnett defeated Central Carroll 59-48 at the Gold City Classic on Saturday. Josalyn Belcher led the Bulldogs (7-7) with 23 points. Stephanie Amichia added 16 points for North.

FORT WALTON, Fla. — Mill Creek defeated Jonesboro 47-44 at the First City Shootout on Saturday. Ashley Gayle and Tatum Ragsdale led the Hawks with 11 points each.

CUMMING — Mountain View fell to Reynoldsburg (OH) at the Wolverine Winter Classic on Saturday night. Aneysa Williams led the Bears (9-4) with 13 points while D’andra Pringle added 12 points.

CUMMING — Grayson fell to Maryville of Tennessee, 56-44 in the Wolverine Winter Classic Saturday. Jessica Ewing led the Rams (6-5) with 10 points while teammate Lika Bah added nine.
Central Gwinnett 49,
GAINESVILLE — Alexandra Frazier hit the winning basket at the buzzer as Central Gwinnett overcame a fourth-quarter deficit and defeated Chattahoochee 49-47 in a consolation game at the Big Red Shootout Saturday.
The Black Knights trailed by eight points entering the fourth quarter. Frazier scored nine of her game high 18 points in the final quarter and teammate Briana McGee scored seven of her 16 points during the comeback. Keana Lee also pulled down 10 rebounds for the Black Knights (8-4).
Mount Tabor (N.C.) 42, Wesleyan 37
CHARLESTON, S.C. — Mikayla Coombs had nine points and eight rebounds as Wesleyan fell to Mount Tabor in the Carolina Invitational on Saturday. Keevana Edwards had nine rebounds for Wolves. Wesleyan drops to 9-2.
