PREP ROUNDUP: Meadowcreek repeats at Black Knight Duals

LAWRENCEVILLE — Meadowcreek successfully defended its title by winning the Black Knight duals at Central Gwinnett on Saturday. The Mustangs improved to 25-5 on the year by winning all five of its matches. The Mustangs defeated Cross Creek (56-15), Lithonia (37-27), Duluth (54-24), Central Gwinnett (58-15) and McNair (52-27).

Adeniyi Henderson-Harden (152), OG Henderson-Harden (182), Raymond Washington (132) and Ryan Moore (195) all were undefeated on the day.


GAC wins Yellow Jacket Duals

ROCKMART — Greater Atlanta Christian improved to 19-8 on the season by winning five matches en route to the title at the Yellow Jacket Duals on Saturday. The Spartans defeated Pepperell (65-15), Adairsville (57-9), South Paulding (34-30), Rockmart (47-21) and Marist (45-30).

Justin vanLeeuwen (106), Ian Dolitz (120), Kyle Dolitz (132) and Carter Clinebell (145) all went undefeated on the day. Clinebell improved his individual record to 27-0 on the season.

Mountain View takes second

CUMMING — Mountain View placed second out of 14 teams at the Santa Slam Tournament hosted by South Forsyth High School. The Bears finished just behind champion North Forsyth.

Adam Flatt (126) was the lone individual champion for Mountain View. Sam Ezzell (113), D.J. Schrenk (145), Will Adams (152), Austin Brown (170), Octavian Jarda (182) and Kmaron Patterson (285) finished second. Alonso Reyes (132) and Jacob Serelis (160) finished third.

Berkmar places

sixth at Fannin Duals

BLUE RIDGE — Berkmar placed sixth at the Fannin County Duals on Saturday. The Patriots defeated Murphy (N.C.) 36-21 and Riverside 36-27.

Nick Luu (106), Kendall Castaneda (113), Ethan Castandeda (152) and Mamadou Soumahord (195) went 5-0 on the day. Alessandro Araujo (120) and Jose Acosta each won four matches.


Collins Hill 56, Shiloh 53

SUWANEE — Collins Hill roared back from a first quarter defecit to defeat Shiloh 56-53 on Saturday night. The Eagles (4-4) trailed 20-4 after the first period before waking from its slumber.

Devin Mitchell led Collins Hill with 23 points, 13 in the fourth quarter. Jeremy James added 10 points and pulled down eight rebounds for the Eagles.

Grayson 76, Walnut Grove 39

LOGANVILLE — Grayson improved to 7-1 on the season with a 76-39 win over Walnut Grove on Saturday. Marquise Lanier led the Rams with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Jordan Dillwood also had 13 points and Austin Dukes dropped in 10 for Grayson.

Duluth 54, Alpharetta 51

DULUTH — Anthony Showell hit the shot to put Duluth ahead and then two free throws to seal the win as the Wildcats defeated Alpharetta 54-51 on Saturday. Eric Hamilton let Duluth with 16 points, while Zaynah Robinson added 13 for the Wildcats (4-5)

Decatur 45, Wesleyan 33

NORCROSS — Decatur defeated Wesleyan 45-33 Saturday night. Reggie Bynum led the Wolves (2-6) with 11 points.

Athens Christian 68,

Hebron Christian 30

DACULA — Athens Christian defeated Hebron Christian 68-30 on Saturday night. Connor Holiday led the Lions (5-4, 2-1) with nine points.


Collins Hill 52, Shiloh 36

SUWANEE — Kyra Dixon scored 18 points and pulled down eight rebounds to lead Collins Hill to a 52-36 win over Shiloh. Aja Young scored eight points, Brittany Stowers had six points and nine rebounds and Sydney Brown added six for the Eagles (5-3, 2-1).

Shiloh was led by Raquel Cranston’s 10 points and Davida White who added nine for the Generals (4-2, 2-1).

Norcross 63,

Peachtree Ridge 40

NORCROSS — Allison Johnson scored 21 to lead Norcross to a 63-40 Region 7-AAAAAA win over Peachtree Ridge on Saturday. Madisyn Wells had 13 points and seven rebounds and Bri Williams had 10 assists for the Blue Devils (8-1, 5-0).

Wesleyan 75, Decatur 70

NORCROSS — Wesleyan held off a stong second half surge from Decatur and held on to defeat the Bulldogs, 75-70. Nikki McDonald led the Wolves (7-1) with 27 points and seven rebounds. Keevana Edwards had 11 points and 13 rebounds, while Mikayla Coombs contributed 11 points and nine steals for Wesleyan.

Duluth 61, Alpharetta 40

DULUTH — Duluth overcame a halftime defecit to pull away and defeat Alpharetta 61-40 Saturday. The Wildcats (7-2, 3-1) trailed 20-19 at halftime before turning up the defensive intensity in the second half.

Katie Powell led Duluth with 13 points. Taylor Auzenne and Jazmyn Johnson had 11 and 10 respectively for the Wildcats.

Grayson 83, Walnut Grove 48

LOGANVILLE — Grayson broke open a close game at halftime to pull away and defeat Walnut Grove 83-48 Saturday. The Rams led by only seven at halftime before blowing out their guests in the second half.

Lika Bah led Grayson with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Sopulchi Okoye added 13 and Courtney Deckard added 11, all in the third quarter.

Buford 49, Columbia 44

BUFORD — Camille Anderson’s 15 points led Buford to a 49-44 win over Columbia Saturday night.

Whitefield Academy 44,

Providence Christian 31

MABLETON — Whitefield Academy defeated Providence Christian 44-31 Saturday. Megan Parker led the Storm with 14 points.
