LAWRENCEVILLE — Instead of sitting in front of your television on New Year’s Eve, there is one big party happening in the county seat.
For the 10th year, Lawrenceville Rings will be rocking from 7:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Dec. 31 on the lawn of the Historic Gwinnett Courthouse.
To start out the evening, there are several activities for the little ones to enjoy from 7:30 to 9 p.m., including inflatables and dancing.
After the sun goes down and the children head to bed, The Breakfast Club opens the show. Formed in 1993, the group is the longest running, most recognized ’80s tribute band in the United States that plays everything from Cameo’s “Word Up” to “Walkin’ on Sunshine” by Katrina and the Waves.
Later in the evening, The Neons take the stage and are playing until midnight when the fireworks are set off to ring in 2014. Known as Atlanta’s Premier Party Dance Band, the group performs Motown, R&B, swing, jazz, Top 40 hits, rock ’n’ roll and disco music.
For the concert, people can rent a table or bring lawn chairs and blankets to find a spot on the lawn. There is no alcohol allowed at the event.
Tables for six are available for $65. For table rentals, call 678-226-2639. For more information, visit www.visitlawrenceville.com.
The Historic Gwinnett Courthouse is located at 185 Crogan St. in Lawrenceville.
