SUWANEE — Mountain View’s youth wrestling team had eight tournament champions to win the Gwinnett County Youth Championships on Friday at Collins Hill. It was the third time in five years the Bears have won the title.
The Bears scored 368 points to hold of Peachtree Ridge (349.5), The Wrestling Academy (290.5), North Gwinnett (260.5) and Parkview (189.5) in the 11-team tournament.
Tomari Fox, Lex Hennebaul, Luke Hennebaul, Robert Jenkins, Nicholus Nelson, Harrison Spikes and Chase Standridge were tournament champions for Mountain View.
Other tournament champions were Archer’s Cole Aycox, Petru Myndresku, Chase DeGrenier and Gabriel Lee; Atlanta Wrestling Academy’s Ira Singleton and Andre Dennard; Brookwood’s Kenneth Jett and Drew Marion; Collins Hill’s Dallas Russell, Ayden Smith, Steel Lund, Ethan Lopez and Cody Hutchison; Mill Creek’s Luke Metz, London Metz, Nicholas Bachman, Ari Allen and Jason Lund; North Gwinnett’s Evan Thomas, Rex McDaniel, Seth Lee Anderson and Spencer Sultemeier; Parkview’s Caleb Hamilton and Marcus Lennen; Peachtree Ridge’s Aidin Flemister, Jaedyn Bell, Lucas Fitts, John Dutton, Chad Norwood, Brandon Cade, Harrison Pugh, Daniel Lonergan, Bryce Jones and Maxwell Forbes; and The Wrestling Academy’s James Sievers, Grant Hall, Gavin Frierson, Dylan Frierson, Michael Haynes, Xavier Bentley, Kolton Formatto, William Formatto and Conner Bradley.
