Jon Gruden staying put at ESPN

Jon Gruden told ESPN that he will remain with the network as an analyst through at least the 2014 season.

Gruden is a rumored candidate for the vacant Houston Texans' head coaching job, but said he is going nowhere.

"I'm just trying to do my job," Gruden said. "I'm not going to address every little rumor or supposed conversation that takes place, according to these so-called sources.

"There are a lot of good coaches out there available to coach these teams. I'm just hoping ESPN likes the job I'm doing. That's my focus."

Gruden wants to continue as the "Monday Night Football" analyst, his quarterback camp series televised by ESPN and his outreach to consult high school coaches.

Gruden coached the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to a Super Bowl title over the Oakland Raiders a decade ago after previously coaching the Raiders. In 11 seasons, he compiled a 95-81 record, including five playoff appearances.

He has worked at ESPN since 2009.
