Dorothy Y. Deaton, age 89 of Winder, GA, formerly of Suwanee, GA, passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2013. She was born August 22, 1924 to Tom G. Young and Ethel Norris Young. She was married to her late husband, Amos Lee Deaton for 65 years before he passed away in Dec. 2011.
She is survived by her children: Bobbie Britt (Doyle) of Suwanee, GA, Janice Holbrooks (Wes) of Winder, GA, Elaine Davis (Tom) of Newnan, GA, Ronnie Deaton (Diane) of Demorest, GA, 5 grandsons and 10 great-grandchildren, sister, Pearl Deaton of Greensboro, GA. She is also survived by 2 sisters-in-law and several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Jack Young, Tommie Young, Harold and Billy Young and 3 sisters: Erla Peters, Violet Barber and Ozella English.
A Funeral Service to Honor and celebrate the Life of Dorothy Deaton will be at 2:00 pm Sunday, December 8, 2013 at Tom M. Wages Lawrenceville Chapel. Rev. Roland Jackson will officiate. Interment will follow in the Willow Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 2-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
