Wesleyan's Colton signs with Samford

PEACHTREE CORNERS — Wesleyan’s Grant Colton will continue his baseball career in college after signing a national letter of intent to attend Samford University on Thursday.

The senior catcher hit .272 with two home runs, 21 RBIs and nine doubles in helping the Wolves to the Class AA state quarterfinals as a junior last spring.

Colton also hit .312 for Wesleyan as a sophomore in 2012, and has been a steady defensive catcher throughout his career.

Colton is the son of Chris and Susan Colton of Sandy Springs.
