Postponed fireworks to light up Labor Day weekend

This year, Labor Day weekend is going to be star-spangled.

The cities of Norcross, Lilburn and Snellville are shooting off the fireworks that where postponed from the soggy Fourth of July celebrations.

Friday, Norcross will party with A1A — The Jimmy Buffet Tribute Band. Between 7:30 and 9:30 p.m., the public is invited to grab chairs and blankets, a picnic and drinks (no glass allowed, though) to lay in the grass for a free show of Buffett covers.

After the concert, the city will shoot off fireworks that were postponed from the rained out Fourth of July event.

Tables are available for rent for the evening, if sitting in the grass isn’t your thing. A table of six is $60 per concert and eight people is $70. To reserve a spot, call the city of Norcross’ Parks and Rec Department at 678-421-2000 or 678-421-2010.
