PREP ROUNDUP: Sudderth drives in three as Buford stays perfect

BUFORD - Buford remained undefeated on the fastpitch softball season as it blanked Class AAAAA Allatoona, 8-0 Monday in five innings. Tessa Daniels pitched all five innings for the Wolves allowing only a fourth inning single and striking out five.

The Wolves (8-0) opened the game with four runs in the first and were never threatened. Noah Sudderth had two hits, including a double, and drove in three to lead Buford. Drew Puckett drove in a pair of runs and Niki Cook collected two hits for the Wolves.

SOFTBALL

Mill Creek 8, Winder-Barrow 0

HOSCHTON - Kenzer Fagioli had three hits and drove in three runs Monday, lifting Mill Creek to a 8-0, five-inning victory over Winder-Barrow.

Skylar Hayward picked up the win in the circle for the Hawks (2-2), pitching five innings and allowing only one hit while striking out three Bulldoggs.

Morgan Bell had two hits and also drove in three runs and Hannah Adams also had two hits and scored twice for Mill Creek.

Norcross 11, Druid Hills 3

NORCROSS - Norcross defeated Druid Hills 11-3 in a five-inning contest Monday night.

Vanessa Bradford was the winning pitcher for the Blue Devils (5-3), working four innings and striking out nine. Rickary Holloman had three hits and drove in two runs while Hannah Laury scored twice for Norcross.

Dacula 8, GAC 0

DACULA - Keeli Waugh pitched a five-inning no-hitter and drove in two runs to help her own cause, as Dacula blanked Greater Atlanta Christian 8-0 Monday.

Kendra Pfister drove in two runs and Sabrina Sieber and Makenzie Vanderhorst each drove in one for the Falcons (2-1).

Habersham 11, Peachtree Ridge 6

SUWANEE - Habersham Central defeated Peachtree Ridge 11-6 Monday night in a Region 7-AAAAAA contest.

The Lions (4-6, 1-1) were led by Lizzie Hellstein, who had three hits. Maiah Johnson had two hits and Wynter Webb and Savanna Turvy each had one for Peachtree Ridge.

Wesleyan 13, St. Pius 1

NORCROSS - Wesleyan dispatched St. Pius 13-1 in four innings Monday night.

The Wolves (4-4) were led by Dacia Jones, who was the winning pitcher, striking out five. Landyn Duley had two hits and a solo home run to lead the Wesleyan offense. Jameson Kavel had three hits and four RBIs while Meredith DiStasi drove in a pair for the Wolves.

Mountain View 8, Parkview 3

LILBURN - Mountain View utilized a total team effort to defeat Parkview 8-3 Monday.

Shae Balzer was the winning pitcher, going the distance for the Bears (4-6). Meghan Tonneson, Courtney Roley, Cara DeSandre, Sammie Daugherty, Kristing Rogers and Courtney Cofino all contributed offensively for Mountain View. Erica Ebitz was credited with six putouts in support of Balzer.
