NORCROSS — The city of Norcross will hold this week the first of three “visioning workshops” for its comprehensive plan update.
From 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday in the Norcross Community Center’s main ballroom, residents are invited to offer their input on the city’s 2034 edition of the comprehensive plan. The meeting will include a brief presentation and small group discussions.
“The comprehensive plan is basically a guiding policy document for the city of Norcross,” Community Development Director Chris McCrary said. “It lays out the vision for our community for 20 years ahead and ensures that we have the right steps, strategies and policies in place to achieve that vision.”
Workshop attendees will be asked to consider what types of recreation they want to see, identify areas for revitalization and new development and discuss transportation needs and possible lifestyle amenities, city officials said.
The city’s plan is being updated to reflect progress made since it was last amended in 2008. The process was begun at last month’s city council meeting and is scheduled for completion next May.
