This modern-day adaptation of the late 19th- century Henry James novel strays slightly (in a good way) from the source material and should be required viewing for any married couple with young children considering divorce. Julianne Moore and Steve Coogan play shallow artsy types who have no business raising a child but still recklessly use her as a pawn and bargaining tool during their bitter split-up. Six-year-old Onata Aprile stars as the title character and, with very little dialogue and only a minimum of facial expressions is able to convey the fear and conflicting emotions children like her are forced to go through.
