Mr. Raymond H. Avent, age 75, of Hoschton passed away Saturday, August 10, 2013 at his residence with his family, following an extended illness.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 16, 2013 from the Chapel of Memorial Park South Funeral Home with entombment following at Memorial Park South Cemetery. Pastor Garry Pearl Pierce will officiate. The family will receive friends 6:00 8:00 p.m., Thursday, August 15, 2013 at Memorial Park South Funeral Home.
Mr. Avent was born February 16, 1938 to the late Raymond & Stella Frances Avent in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. He retired in 1996 from the Veterans Administration where he worked his way from an entry level clerk to the Deputy Under Secretary for Benefits during a 38 year career.
Survivors include: wife of 44 years, Deanna Avent; daughter, Christine Avent; daughter & son-in-law, Jennifer & Algernon Crumpler; grand-daughters, Kendal, Ava and Campbell; Yao Chin Chao, Jason Gowdy and son, Dale; and a host of in-laws, cousins and friends.
