GAINESVILLE — After dropping a close game to Habersham Central 6-4, Lanier rebounded with a 9-0, five-inning win over Dunwoody to close out its day at the Lanier Pointe Invitational.
In the opening loss, Holland Coursey was 2-for-2, Lauren Petti was 1-for-4 with two RBIs and Kaylee Ramos was 2-for-3.
In Game 2, Ramos took the complete-game win, striking out 10 and going 2-for-3 at the plate.
Amber Spangler went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI and Holland Coursey, Hannah Coursey, Taylor Rose and Isabell Petty all had one hit for the Lonhorns (1-2).

MACON — Despite a 5-for-5, two-RBI effort from Landyn Duley in the first of two games on Saturday, Wesleyan dropped both of its season-opening games at Mercer University.
The Wolves (0-2) lost the opener to First Presbyterian Day 9-8 and followed with a 10-0 loss to Rutland County.
In the first game, Duley also stole two bases, hit two doubles and scored two runs. Sydney Stone went 2-for-4 with two RBIs in Game 1.
