DULUTH —Leave your loafers and neckties at home because the Gwinnett Chamber’s second annual Button Down Dash returns to benefit nonprofits.
Runners (and walkers) can choose from two courses: the 5K race at 7:30 a.m. or the fun run at 7:45 a.m. The Button Down Dash 5K is a USTAF Certified Course as a Peachtree Road Race qualifier track.
The 5K course starts and finishes on Sugarloaf Parkway and loops around the Arena at Gwinnett Center’s neighborhood. The course is a mixture of business and residential roads without any major hills. The finish is in the Gwinnett Chamber parking lot under a large inflatable arch to take a “Power Pose” picture. Food and drinks will be available after the race.
A new aspect included this year is a “charity challenge.” It’s a way for every participant to support their favorite nonprofit.
Charity partners in the race are Artworks! Gwinnett, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Covenant Counseling & Family Resource Center, Dream House for Medically Fragile Children, Inc., Gwinnett Medical Center Foundation, Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful, Hi-Hope Service Center, Ric Crawford Clinic, Rainbow Village, Inc. and When Everyone Survives Foundation.
Baby joggers are allowed on the course, but wheelchairs and dogs are not. Participates may register on the day of the event, but may not receive the free swag, like a race T-shirt.
