DULUTH — The gathering place for breakfast in Duluth now has later hours. At least for one night a week.
Rexall Grill, a breakfast and lunch staple in the city, is now serving food on Friday nights from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
The restaurant will serve fried catfish or chicken for $14. The meal comes with beans, cole slaw, fries or a baked potato, and a roll or hush puppies. The full menu is also available to order from.
“We just started these Friday nights because the only places serving the fried catfish meals were in (other areas), like north Jefferson and Newnan,” Rexall owner Lynda Alley said. “If it’s successful, we’ll be open Friday and Saturday nights.”
The special began a few weeks ago.
“We wanted to work out the kinks before we started advertising,” Alley said.
Rexall Grill opened in 1969 as an addition to the Rexall Pharmacy. What was once a lunch counter is now a full-service restaurant. It is located at 3165 Buford Highway in Duluth.
