North Gwinnett announced the field for its annual Jared Cook Tip-Off Classic, a high school boys basketball showcase sponsored by Cook, an NFL player and North alum. Proceeds of the tourney go to the Susan G. Komen For the Cure breast cancer foundation in honor of Cook’s mother, a cancer survivor.
Host North’s boys team will be joined in the field by boys squads from Buford, Collins Hill, Greater Atlanta Christian and Peachtree Ridge, in addition to non-Gwinnett teams Tucker, North Cobb Christian, Seneca (S.C.), Miller Grove, Effingham County, Sequoyah, Greenforest Christian and M.L. King.
The event begins Saturday, Nov. 23 with Tucker vs. North Cobb Christian at 4 p.m., GAC vs. Seneca (S.C.) at 5:30 p.m., Buford vs. Miller Grove at 7 p.m. and North vs. Effingham at 8:30 p.m.
On Monday, Nov. 25, Sequoyah plays North Cobb Christian at 2:30 p.m., followed by M.L. King vs. Greenforest at 4 p.m., Collins Hill vs. GAC at 5:30 p.m., Buford vs. Peachtree Ridge at 7 p.m. and North vs. Tucker at 8:30 p.m.
It concludes Tuesday, Nov. 26, when the games are M.L. King vs. Sequoyah at 4 p.m., Collins Hill vs. North Cobb Christian at 5:30 p.m., Peachtree Ridge vs. Miller Grove at 7 p.m. and North vs. Greenforest at 8:30 p.m.
