ATLANTA — Gwinnett Daily Post syndicated columnist Ronda Rich has a big news: one of her novels is being made into a movie.

This week, production began in Vancouver on UP’s original movie, “The Town That Came A-Courtin,’” which is based on Rich’s novel with the same title.

The movie stars Valerie Harper, Lauren Holly, Cameron Bancroft and Lucie Guest. The film is slated to make its television debut in January 2014 on UP, a network for “uplifting family entertainment.”
