PREP ROUNDUP: Wesleyan boys beat Lovett to make tennis semifinals

NOCROSS -- Led by Palmer Brasher's win at No. 3 singles, Wesleyan's boys tennis team beat Lovett 3-2 on Tuesday to advance to the semifinals of the Class AA state playoffs.

The other two points for the Wolves came from the doubles teams of Cole Brown and Andrew Dorman at No. 1 and Cameron Anderson and Tucker Cannon at No. 2 for Wesleyan (10-9).

BOYS TENNIS

Westminster 3, GAC 0

ATLANTA -- Westminster defeated Greater Atlanta Christian 3-0 Tuesday in the quarterfinals of the Class AA state playoffs.

The Spartans finish with an 8-10 record.

Pace Academy 3, Providence 0

ATLANTA -- Providence Christian's boys tennis season ended Tuesday afternoon with a 3-0 loss to Pace Academy in the Elite Eight of the Class A state playoffs.

The Storm finish the season with an 11-10 record.

GIRLS TENNIS

Lovett 3, Wesleyan 2

NORCROSS -- Wesleyan's girls tennis team came up just short in the quarterfinals against Lovett, losing 3-2 Tuesday.

Winning for the Wolves (15-4) were Sara Settlage at No. 3 singles and Kaitlin English and Leila Jordan at No. 1 doubles.

Westminster 3, GAC 1

ATLANTA -- GAC's girls tennis season ended Tuesday in the Class AA quarterfinals with a 3-0 loss at Westminster.

The Spartans (11-7) got their point at No. 1 doubles from the team of Rachel Chupp and Jenny Armstrong.

GIRLS LACROSSE

Peachtree Ridge 14,Norcross 4

NORCROSS -- Led by five goals from Darby Frisbie and four from Kristin Scheder, Peachtree Ridge beat Norcross 14-4 Tuesday.

Kayla Jones added a goal and four assists for the Lions (12-4, 5-0).

GAC 8, Tri-Cities 7

EAST POINT -- Jamie Lu set a personal best with 17 saves, including one with three seconds remaining to seal an 8-7 win for GAC.

Liz Calhoun scored three goals and Angela Tate added two more for the Spartans. Savannah Gray, Abby Gipson and Catie Wood all added one goal.

BOYS LACROSSE

Grayson 8, Duluth 5

DULUTH -- Sharp Reynierson had four goals and two assists Tuesday night as Grayson defeated Duluth 8-5 in boys lacrosse.

The Rams (10-7) also got points from Zach Cernich (two goals, one assist), Garrett Gorski (one goal, two assists) and Jon Paul (one goal). Grayson goalie Josh Parris made 12 saves.

BOYS GOLF

Blessed Trinity edges Wesleyan

JOHNS CREEK -- Rhodri Howell's eagle on No. 9 and score of 38 left Wesleyan just short in a 150-153 loss to Blessed Trinity at St. Ives Country Club.

James Cyran led the Wolves with a nine-hole round of 36.
