DULUTH -- If the pollen is still a little too much for you, there are two events that are indoors this weekend -- both at the Performing Arts Center at Gwinnett Center.
On Saturday, the Ludwig Symphony Orchestra is performing its "A Cherry Blossom Spring Fling" gala concert to close its 15th season at 7:30 p.m.
The event features Norwegian pianist John Chen interpreting Schumann's "Piano Concerto in A minor;" Zachary Mansell, the first-prize winner of the Cleveland International Cello Society Competition, performing Tschaikovsky's "Rococo" variations for cello and orchestra; and local Atlanta soprano Perri Montane performing arias by Mozart and Wagner.
Tickets range from $12 to $22.
On Sunday, the Gwinnett Symphony Orchestra and Chorus presents "Shimmer," the final Masterworks concert of its 2013 season. There will be a performance by the Gwinnett Symphony Youth Orchestra at 4:30 p.m., with the GSO performance starting at 5:30 p.m.
The Youth Orchestra, under the conduction of Gregory Pritchard, director of Chamber and Youth Orchestras, performs a "Night at the Movies" pops concert, including music from "Star Wars," "Jurassic Park," "Raiders of the Lost Ark," "Pirates of the Caribbean," "Shrek" and "Titanic."
The GSO, under the baton of Robert Trocina, GSO Music Director and founding Conductor, will perform Jean Sibelius's "Symphony No. 2 in D major, Op. 43."
Tickets range from $10 to $31.35.
The Performing Arts Center at Gwinnett Center is located at 6400 Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth.
