Quincy Jones concert to benefit ACS

ATLANTA -- A Grammy Legend and the producer of Michael Jackson's Thriller album will put on a benefit next month for the American Cancer Society's 100th birthday.

Legendary music producer Quincy Jones will headline a concert, "Quincy Jones & Friends," at 8 p.m. on May 23 at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta. Jones will be joined by James Ingram, Patti Austin, Siedah Garrett, Nikki Yanofsky and Alfredo Rodriguez.Proceeds from ticket sales for the concert will benefit the American Cancer Society.The ACS is using its birthday on May 22 to encourage people to join together to help in the fight against cancer.

An ACS news release said two out of three people today who are diagnosed are surviving cancer for at least five years.
