PREP ROUNDUP: Jones' walk-off double wins it for Dacula

DACULA -- Matt Jones smacked a walk-off, two-RBI double in the bottom of the seventh to propel Dacula to a 7-6 victory over Archer on Saturday.

Jones finished 2-for-4 with four RBIs. Batting in a run each for the Falcons (8-15, 5-7) were Tyler Crumley (3-for-4), Brandon Ake (1-for-2) and Nick Heamon (1-for-3).

Chance Keefer (3-1) earned the win in relief. He allowed one run on two hits and struck out one in two innings.


Brookwood 6, Colquitt County 5

MOULTRIE -- Michael Ranieri earned the win in relief, allowing no runs on one hit as Brookwood beat Colquitt County 6-5 on Saturday.

Jordan Dykes went three innings as the starter and gave up three runs, one earned, on three hits. Dykes was also 1-for-3 with a run scored.

Alvaro Del Castillo, Garrett Reynolds (two RBIs) and Zach Moon (three RBIs) were all 1-for-3. Jonathan White was 1-for-4 for the Broncos (14-9).

Mill Creek 2, Mt. View 1

LAWRENCEVILLE -- Region-leading Mill Creek held on for a 2-1 victory over Mountain View on Saturday.

Logan Moseley and Tyler Boldt (RBI) led the way offensively with 2-for-4 outings for Mill Creek (16-6, 10-1). Bryan Hudson was 1-for-3 with an RBI, while Cody Pugh pitched a complete game for the win.

For Mountain View, Peyton Fore had a double and an RBI. Brad Weaver and Joey Bell each had a hit. Bell took the loss, going seven innings, and giving up just two runs on eight hits while striking out four.

Lanier 7, Madison County 3

DANIELSVILLE -- Lanier clinched a second straight state playoff berth with a 7-3 victory over Madison County on Saturday.

Matthew Ramsay was 3-for-4 with three RBIs to lead the Longhorns (17-6, 10-3). T.J. Richardson and C.J. Wismer both had three hits as well. Michael Diaz and Taylor Grant added two hits each to the offensive effort.

Trenton Little (7-0) allowed three earned runs on four hits with five strikeouts in four innings of work for the win.

Norcross 11, Habersham Central 0

NORCROSS -- Trevor Craport got the win and went 3-for-3 with a double and scored two runs in Norcross' 11-0, five-inning drubbing of Habersham Central on Saturday.

Craport (3-1) went all five innings and allowed just four hits while striking out four for the Blue Devils (14-8, 5-6).

Leading the offensive explosion were Joseph Wilber (2-for-3, double, two RBIs, two runs), Jascanel Ferreras (1-for-2, triple, two runs, RBI) and Devin Geraghty (2-for-2, two RBIs, run). Jess Ramsey was 1-for-3 with a run, while Yuuki Bomar was 1-for-2 with a two-RBI double and a run.

Collins Hill 6, Duluth 2

SUWANEE -- Nate Williams threw a one-hitter, struck out five and was 2-for-3 with a double at the plate as Collins Hill beat Duluth 6-2 for a key region win Saturday.

Tommy McBride earned a save for the Eagles (5-6 in Region 7-AAAAAA).

Cole Zabowski was 2-for-4 and Matthew Baca was 2-for-3. Both had a double. William Holland, Chaz Adams and Austin Gonzalez were all 1-for-2. Holland also scored two runs.


Mt. View 3, Berkmar 1

LILBURN -- Mountain View got goals from three different players in a 3-1 win over Berkmar on Saturday.Scoring for the Bears (7-7) were Samantha Moore, A'lea Hathcock and Ashley Lewis.

North 10, Meadowcreek 0

SUWANEE -- Taylor Burns scored five goals and assisted on another in North Gwinnett's 10-0 win over Meadowcreek on Saturday.

Caroline Gualdoni had two goals and Stephanie Lee, Katie Strand and Taylor Fleming also scored for the Bulldogs (8-8, 5-3).

Norcross 4, Newnan 3 (OT)

NORCROSS -- Locked in a tight battle, Norcross picked up a 4-3 overtime win against Newnan on Saturday's Senior Day.

Scoring for the Blue Devils (10-7, 4-4) were Jordan Lewter, Maddie Stephen, Jordan Shapiro and Jenna McEachern.

The game was tied three times before Norcross prevailed in the second extra period.

Duluth 6, Habersham Central 0

DULUTH -- Hannah Huizenga scored two goals and had two assists as Duluth rolled past Habersham Central 6-0 on Saturday.

Sarah Miller and Dani Diaz each had a goal and an assist for the Wildcats (9-5, 5-2). Becca Miller scored off a penalty kick and freshman goalkeeper Tiffany Sornpao came out of the net later in the game to score on a beautiful header.


Norcross 3, Newnan 2 (PKs)

NORCROSS -- Norcross beat Newnan 3-2 on penalty kicks Saturday.

Jesus Contreras and Daniel Biles scored in regulation for the Blue Devils (7-10, 2-6), who prevailed 4-2 in penalty kicks.

Meadowcreek 1, North Gwinnett 0 (PKs)

SUWANEE -- Meadowcreek won 1-0 on penalty kicks against North Gwinnett on Saturday.

Peter Gutierrez blocked four penalty shots for Meadowcreek (11-4), which won 7-6 in the shootout.


Lions win Bronco Invite

SNELLVILLE -- Peachtree Ridge had two players tie for low medalist honors and won the Bronco Invitational on Saturday.

The Lions shot a collective 300, 12 shots ahead of runner-up Mill Creek. Brookwood was third with 317.


Broncos third at own invite

SNELLVILLE -- Brookwood was third at their own Bronco Invitational at Summit Chase on Saturday.

The Broncos shot 256. Lambert was way out in front with a score of 237.
