Relay for Life run is April 27
SUWANEE -- A Relay for Life 5K Run/Walk is scheduled for 8 a.m. April 27 in Suwanee.
The "I See a Cure" Relay event will be held at 437 Old Norcross Road N.W., Building 200, Suwanee.
Adult entry fee on race day is $25. The fee for children 12 and under is $20. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. outside Building 200.
The event is sponsored by the Instructional Support Center's Relay for Life Team.
Relay for Life raises money for the American Cancer Society in the fight against the disease.
Geekspace Gwinnett holds computer seminar
LAWRENCEVILLE -- Geekspace Gwinnett, a nonprofit "makerspace," is holding its first seminar on April 30.
Participants can learn how to program a micro-controller and build a development board. Prototyping kits will be supplied and will go home with attendees. The cost is $20.
It's the first in a series of three seminars.
The seminar will be held at 6:30 p.m. April 30 at a new shared office space in Lawrenceville, Cornerstone at Novologic., which is located at 279 W. Crogan St., Lawrenceville.
Free E-waste recycling drive set for May 4
LILBURN -- Atlanta Recycling Solutions will be having an electronics waste recycling drive hosted by Trinity Lutheran Church in Lilburn from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on May 4.
Items accepted for free include personal computers, laptops, modems, servers, printers, UPS batteries, CD-ROMS, fax machines, cellphones, circuit boards, copiers, scanners, power supplies, phone systems, wire/cabling, keyboards, typewriters, floppy drives, mouse/mice, test equipment, disk drives, PC monitors, networking equipment, microwaves, stereo equipment and electronic game equipment.
Portable televisions are accepted but there is a $10 charge (rear-projection and wooden console televisions not accepted).

Annual golf, dinner and wine event is May 6
SUWANEE -- The Next Stop will host its seventh annual fundraising event at 1 p.m. May 6, at Royal Lakes Golf and Country Club in Flowery Branch.
Golf shotgun start is 1 p.m., followed by an evening of complementary wine, music, a silent auction and dinner. Cost is $125.
