Location: 678 is located at the intersection of Satellite and Steve Reynolds boulevards, next to the QuikTrip gas station.
Hours: 5 p.m. to midnight Sundays through Thursdays, 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays
Atmosphere: This inside of 678 is plastered with a man, who is making faces, immortalized as a cartoon character and posing as several cut-outs in the restaurant.
But who is he?
Kang Ho-Dong, a famous Korean entertainer, who owns the franchises. He greets you at the front door, he laughs at you while you eat and watches you leave the establishment.
Other than that, the restaurant looks modern with gray walls and wooden walls separating each booth.
The tables seat four people and have a hole in the middle of them. That's where the server places the hot charcoal to cook your food -- yes, they cook the meal in front of you. It gets a little smoky at times, but there is also an overhead exhaust system to clear the air.
For those of you who have never eaten at a Korean restaurant, there is a button at each table -- don't be afraid to use it. When you need your server for anything, especially when it is a busy day, push the button and he or she will be at your table to assist you. If not, he or she may not come back to your table for a while to let you dine in peace.
Menu: The menu is traditional Korean cuisine specializing in Korean barbecue. On the menu, the dishes are written in both Korean and English, but with minimal descriptions. If you have any questions, just ask your server. He or she are glad to help explain things for lost diners.
Most of the dishes sound pricey, but you are given a lot of food -- enough to feed two to four people. Plus, each plate receives a fair amount of sides ranging from homemade kimchi to lettuce wraps to fish cakes.
When you order your beef or pork meals, they are served as a variety of raw meat, some of which are marinated. The meat is cooked from mild flavor to the more potent as the meal goes on. The server cooks and cuts the meat for you, leaving out the fat and gristle. You are then able to make your own concoctions from the sides, lettuce and rice.
