DISC SPOTLIGHT: 'Django Unchained'

Django Unchained Blu-ray (R)

Movie: 3 and 1.2 stars out of 4 stars

Disc: 3 stars out of 4 stars

Quentin Tarantino nabbed his second Best Screenplay Oscar for this Spaghetti Western/Civil War mash-up which is arguably his most violent and bloody effort to date. Jamie Foxx plays the title character, a slave whose freedom is purchased by bounty hunter (Christoph Waltz) and spends the rest of movie mowing down white war criminals and attempting to reunite with his wife (Kerry Washington). Tarantino caught a lot heat for heavy use of the "N" word -- mostly from people with no clue of how people in the south spoke in the mid-19th century. Superb and just a tad too long.

Technical specs: aspect ratio: Widescreen (1080p/2.40:1), audio: English (Dolby DTS-HD MA 5.1), French and Spanish (Dolby Digital 5.1), subtitles: English and Spanish.

DJANGO Unchained is one of Quentin Tarantino's best movies yet> It is full of blood and guts flying everywhere. But it is one excellent movie, all the actors were most magnificent in their parts!!!!! I bought by special movie pack for $22.99 on Tuesday though.
