Hernan Jacob Garcia-Lopez
LAWRENCEVILLE -- A Tucker man was arrested this week after a nearly year-long sexual affair with a 13-year-old girl, police said.
Hernan Jacob Garcia-Lopez, 26, has been charged with eight counts of child molestation, nine counts of statutory rape and 10 counts of enticing a child for indecent purposes. Jail records showed he was booked into the Gwinnett County jail late Tuesday and is being held without bond.
According to warrants, Garcia-Lopez had sexual intercourse on at least eight occasions with the same 13-year-old girl, taking her into various "utility closets" at the Sienna Heights Apartments on Graves Road in Norcross. The encounters reportedly began June 5 of last year and continued until at least Jan. 12.
All eight incidents occurred between 2 and 6 p.m., according to documents.
The Daily Post does not identify alleged victims of sexual crimes.
The connection between Garcia-Lopez and the young girl was unclear Wednesday. According to records, Garcia-Lopez most recently lived on South Norcross-Tucker Road, just a quarter-mile or so from Sienna Heights.
A hold has been placed on Garcia-Lopez for immigration officials.
Jail records also showed that Garcia-Lopez, a native of Honduras, was arrested on charges of driving without a license on Aug. 30, 2009 -- about two months before Gwinnett County officially enacted the 287(g) program, which allows the sheriff's department to investigate the immigration status of detainees and turn over illegal residents to federal officials for deportation.
