LAWRENCEVILLE -- The Snellville man accused of fatally stabbing his roommate last month is now in the Gwinnett County jail.

A third roommate, and then police, found 28-year-old Brett Francis stabbed and bleeding out inside a Hurndon Road home on March 30. Before dying during surgery at Gwinnett Medical Center, Francis reportedly told authorities that roommate Stephen O'Reilly -- the 24-year-old son of a Virgin Islands senator -- had attacked him and then fled in Francis' car.

Two days later, O'Reilly turned himself in near Pensacola, Fla. He remained in the Escambia County Jail until Monday, when Gwinnett County Detention Center records show he was booked in locally at about 4:45 p.m.

O'Reilly's booking sheet lists charges of murder and aggravated assault. He is being held without bond.
