Back-to-back homers power G-Braves past Charlotte 8-7

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Joey Terdoslavich and Ernesto Mejia belted back-to-back home runs in the top of the eighth, and the Gwinnett Braves hung on in the ninth for an 8-7 win over the Charlotte Knights on Friday nights at BB&T Ballpark.

With his team trailing 4-3, Jose Constanza led off the eighth with a single and came home when Terdoslavich hit his two-run blast one out later to give the G-Braves the lead for good.

Mejia then followed with his fifth homer of the season, a solo shot, to make the score 6-4, but despite taking an 8-5 lead into the ninth, the G-Braves had to hold off one last Charlotte rally.

Andrew Russell gave up two runs on two hits, but was able to secure his second save of the season in relief of Cory Rasmus.

Terdoslavich finished the game 2-for-5 with the homer and three RBIs, while Tyler Pastornicky was 3-for-4 with a homer and three RBIs. Constanza and Mejia also had two hits apiece for Gwinnett.
