LILBURN -- Just in time for the spring planting season, Lilburn officials have received a grant to help its farmers market.
AgSouth Farm Credit bestowed the organization a $500 grant to promote a "Think Outside the Store" campaign. It will finance advertisements and promotions for the market, which opens Friday, June 7.
The eco-friendly weekly event will also have another green boost, with 250 reusable bags coming with the prize, to give customers' convenience while shopping.
Organizers are marketing the farmers' market as "A Tasty Way to Start Your Weekend!" For the fourth year, the event will run all summer long from 4 to 8 p.m. in downtown Lilburn.
