Duluth brings back free movie events

Special Photo Duluth will kick off this year’s Flicks on the Bricks with “Labyrinth” tonight on the Duluth Town Green.

DULUTH -- Now that the weather is warming up, it's time to find something to do -- away from your couch. Today, the city of Duluth brings backs its annual Flicks on the Bricks to the Duluth Town Green.

For its first movie of the season, Duluth is showing "Labyrinth" tonight. The flick follows Sarah who is baby-sitting her little brother Toby. While telling him a story to make him sleep, Sarah makes up a fantasy world with the Goblin King and the situation gets out of hand from there.

There is also a visit from the Center for Puppetry Art's Puppet Factory before the show.

On April 26, Marvel Comic's "Iron Man" hits the big screen, telling the story of Tony Stark who is injured and builds a suit to protect himself. Thus, a hero is born.

For the last movie on May 17, Flicks on the Bricks will show Disney and Pixar's "Brave." Trying to find her way in life, Princess Merida does things her way, which bring chaos to the kingdom.

Before this movie, there is a special performance, plus a lesson on dance and hula by Atlantan hula-hoop artist Shelby Rawles.

Preshow activities start at 7 p.m. Movies begin at dusk. There is no alcohol allowed in the event.

Duluth Town Green is located at 3142 Hill St. in Duluth. For more information, visit www.duluthga.net.
