PREP ROUNDUP: Windom's six goals lead Hawks past Bears

LAWRENCEVILLE -- Mill Creek's girls lacrosse team moved to 12-1 on the year with a 22-8 win over Mountain View on Wednesday.

Tori Windom led the Hawks with six goals and one assist, while Maddie Peek had three goals and two assists, and Mackenzie Fagioli had three goals. Emily Hallberg, Abigail Fitler and Maddie Beck each added two goals and one assist.

GIRLS LACROSSE

Brookwood 10, Archer 9

LAWRENCEVILLE -- Brookwood moved to 7-7 on the year and 3-2 in the area with a 10-9 win at Archer on Wednesday.

Haley Curtin led the team with four goals, while Amila Shake and Lindsey Thomson had two goals apiece. Taylor Stercay led the defense with three caused turnovers and seven ground balls.

Courtney Ross picked up the win in goal with 12 saves.

Peachtree Ridge 13, Collins Hill 7

SUWANEE -- Peachtree Ridge moved to 7-4 on the year and 3-0 in the area with a 13-7 win over Collins Hill on Wednesday.

Darby Frisbie had four goals, while Kayla Jones had three goals and five assists, and Margaret Flanigan had three goals and one assist.

Izzy Ivory picked up the win in goal with eight saves.

North 20, Duluth 6

SUWANEE -- North moved to 8-6 on the year and 3-0 in the area with a 20-6 win over Duluth on Wednesday.

Emily Nance led the team with four goals and one assist, while Lauren Aycock, Katie Verret and Lindsey Cobb each had four goals. KJ Hardaway also added three goals and four assists.

Marist 22, Wesleyan 14

ATLANTA -- Wesleyan dropped to 6-5 on the year with a 22-14 loss at Marist on Wednesday.

Courtney O'Leary had nine goals, while Lindsay Moore had three.

BASEBALL

South 2, Dacula 0

SNELLVILLE -- South got a complete-game, four-hit, three-strikeout performance from Ryan Patterson to beat Dacula 2-0 on Wednesday.

The win moved the Comets to 13-3 on the year and 6-0 in Region 8-AAAAAA.

Adrian Martinez was 2-for-3 with a run scored, while Mason Hart was 1-for-3 with an RBI. Colton Nash and Montrell Marshall each contributed a hit as well.

Dylan Brown picked up the loss, pitching six innings with five hits and five strikeouts.

Tyler Crumley, Josh Bullock, Nick Mollica and Austin Collins each had hits for the Falcons (5-11, 2-5).

Brookwood 6, Shiloh 1

SNELLVILLE -- Brookwood moved to 10-6 on the year and 6-1 in the region with a 6-1 win over Shiloh on Wednesday.

Matt Aycock picked up the win, throwing a complete-game four-hitter with five strikeouts.

Tre Lawrence was 2-for-4 with an RBI, while Alvara Del Castillo was 2-for-4 with three RBIs. Zach Moon had an RBI and Garrett Reynolds had a double.

For Shiloh (8-9, 3-4), Cletis Avery, Jeremy Glore, Gilberto Lopez and Eriq White each had a hit. Chase Waters picked up the loss, giving up three runs in 5 innings and six strikeouts.

Grayson 15, Berkmar 0

LOGANVILLE -- Grayson moved to 10-7 on the year with a 15-0, three-inning win over Berkmar on Wednesday.

Brandon Benson had a home run and three RBIs, while Jack Banda had two hits. John Briley picked up the win on the mound, giving up no hits. He also had a triple and two RBIs at the plate.

North Gwinnett 2, Peachtree Ridge 1

SUWANEE -- North Gwinnett got a complete-game, five-hit, two-strikeout performance from Jordan Brown as it beat Peachtree Ridge, 2-1, in baseball action on Wednesday.

The win moved the Bulldogs to 11-5 overall and 4-0 in Region 7-AAAAAA.

Michael Haynes had an RBI single and Cody Short had an RBI sacrifice fly for the Bulldogs. Blake Sangster also went 2-for-2 with a double and Justin Moran had a double.

For Peachtree Ridge (9-7, 3-1), Jonathan Hudson had the lone RBI on a groundout, while Cooper Burdick was 2-for-2 with a double. Cameron Shepherd, Drew Wharton, Tyler Chanel and Tyler Haswell each had a hit as well.

Norcross 8, Habersham 4

MT. AIRY -- Norcross moved to 10-4 on the year and 2-4 in the region with an 8-4 win over Habersham on Wednesday.

Brooks Buckler picked up the win, throwing five innings and striking out two. Jordyn Thomas came on for the final two innings, striking out one.

Griffin Helms went 4-for-4 with two runs, two RBIs and four stolen bases. Zach Shirah was 2-for-2 with three runs, one RBI and four stolen bases.

Jess Ramsey added two RBIs, while Andrew Lightle added a single.

Collins Hill 13, Duluth 5

DULUTH -- Collins Hill moved to 4-11 on the year and 1-3 in the region with a 13-5 win over Duluth on Wednesday.

Ryan Askew pitched a complete game, giving up seven hits and striking out four, while also having a solo home run.

William Holland was 2-for-5 with two runs, while Cole Zabowski was 2-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI, and Matthew Vaca was 3-for-4 with a double.

Buford 6, White Co. 5

BUFORD -- Buford moved to 13-2 on the year and 10-1 in the region with a 6-5 win over White Co. on Wednesday.

Josh Higginbotham picked up the win, going six innings with 14 strikeouts, while also picking up an RBI at the plate.

Ryan Bramlett was 1-for-3 with two RBIs, while Joey Bart was 2-for-3 and Austin Upshaw had an RBI.

Stephens Co. 4, Lanier 2

SUGAR HILL -- Lanier dropped to 11-5 on the year and 4-2 in the region with a 4-2 loss against Stephens Co. on Wednesday.

Matt Ramsay picked up the loss on the mound, throwing a complete game and five strikeouts.

T.J. Richardson had a two-run home run, while Kristoff Rietig went 2-for-3. Michael Diaz and Taylor Grant each had a hit as well.

Chamblee 3, GAC 2

CHAMBLEE -- GAC dropped to 7-7 on the year with a 3-2 loss at Chamblee on Wednesday.

BOYS SOCCER

Wesleyan 2, Providence 2

LILBURN -- Wesleyan moved to 3-6-2 on the year with a 2-2 tie at Providence on Wednesday.

Cort Coxhead scored both goals for Wesleyan and Benjin Johnson added an assist.

Providence (5-8-1) got goals from Nick Hoehne and Connor Jones.

South 1, Meadowcreek 0

SNELLVILLE -- South picked up a non-region win over Meadowcreek, 1-0, on Wednesday.

Jorge Cuenca scored the only goal for the Comets.

Chris Keller, Austin Varney and Derek Denton provided lock-down defense to preserve the shutout.

GIRLS SOCCER

Meadowcreek 5, South Gwinnett 4

SNELLVILLE -- Meadowcreek defeated South 3-2 in PKs after a 4-4 tie in regulation on Wednesday.

Rachel Hill scored three goals in regulation, while Valerie Gutierruez had one goal.

Mariam Martinez had seven saves in regulation, three in PKs and scored the game-winning PK.

BOYS LACROSSE

North 10, Grayson 7

SUWANEE -- North moved to 10-1 on the year with a 10-7 win over Grayson on Wednesday.

James Shimkus had three goals, while Luke Printz had two. Nathan Howell, Sam Gasta, Tyler Ortolano, Dan Constant and Spencer Howey each had one goal.

Evan Richardson picked up the win in goal with five saves.

Peachtree Ridge 12, Collins Hill 7

LAWRENCEVILLE -- Peachtree Ridge moved to 8-2 on the year with a 12-7 win over Collins Hill on Wednesday.

Ethan Bish led the team with four goals and one assist, while Matt Dominguez, Jacob Lee and Steven Lee each had two goals. Doug Poedtke and Matty Ledon added the other goals for the Lions.

Cole Price picked up the win in goal with nine saves.

Tommy Lauren had two goals, while Aubrey Johnson, Zach Cow, Connor Pittman and Andrew Martinez each had one goal for Collins Hill (6-6).

Cody Lewis had 11 saves in goal for the Eagles.

Duluth 14, Norcross 4

DULUTH -- Duluth picked up its first-ever program win over Norcross with a 14-4 win on Wednesday.

Jordan Dandridge had five goals, while Aaron Hind had three goals. Brendan Eckard, Zack Consie and Ben Loyal also contributed two goals apiece.

Nolan Pax picked up the win in goal with six saves.

Mill Creek 17, Mountain View 0

LAWRENCEVILLE -- Mill Creek moved to 12-1 on the year and 8-0 in the region with a 17-0 win over Mountain View on Wednesday.

Andrew Eubanks and Sam Kibildis each had three goals, while Nick Kozlowski and Will Bryan contributed two goals apiece.

BOYS TENNIS

Athens Academy 3, Wesleyan 2

NORCROSS -- Wesleyan dropped to 5-6 on the year with a 3-2 loss to Athens Academy on Wednesday.

Picking up wins for the Wolves were the No. 1 doubles team of Cole Brown and Andrew Norman, and the No. 2 doubles team of Cameron Anderson and Palmer Brasher.

GIRLS TENNIS

North 4, Parkview 1

SUWANEE -- North moved to 15-2 on the year with a 4-1 win over Parkview on Wednesday.

Picking up wins for the Bulldogs were Hannah Serdinia at No. 1 singles, Isabel Balsavage at No. 2 singles, the No. 1 doubles' team of Lauren Layton and Mimi Zhang, and the No. 2 doubles' team of Haley Wix and Madison Bolden.

Wesleyan 4, Athens Academy 1

NORCROSS -- Wesleyan moved to 10-1 on the year with a 4-1 win over Athens Academy on Wednesday.Picking up wins for the Wolves were Sophia Strickland and Savannah Strickland in singles action, while the doubles' teams of Kaitlin English and Leila Jordan, and Dee Dee Seaman and Katie Van Laeke.

GIRLS GOLF

Peachtree Ridge 161, Norcross 173

DULUTH -- Christi Lee shot a 51 as Peachtree Ridge beat Norcross 161-173 at the Berkeley Hills Country Club on Wednesday.

Camille Streeter shot a 51 for Norcross.
