Tripp Halstead back in hospital

Tripp Halstead

Tripp Halstead

According to a recent posting on Tripp Halstead’s parents’ Facebook page, the young boy is back in the hospital.

Halstead had a fever and his blood pressure was up, so he was transported to the hospital by ambulance early Monday.

It was determined later in the day that his liver enzymes are elevated.

"We are here for observation and more blood tests (Tuesday). If his liver enzymes go down or stay the same I think they will send us home, if they go up, we have a problem and will be here a while," his mother Stacy wrote on Facebook.

His hospital visit Monday came just three days after he was released.

On Friday, exactly five months since he suffered a traumatic brain injury outside his Barrow County day care, he was greeted by family and friends as he made his homecoming.

“Tripp had fought so hard for the past 5 months, and he is going to keep on fighting.”

As a Christian myself I feel like the life I have is a gift to be enjoyed and treasured. But I also understand that medical technology has its limits and often doesn't extend life so much as it prolongs death. I often wonder if putting people/children through such tortuous and painful treatments as Tripp has had to endure is the right thing to do when God has so clearly tried to bring Tripp home so many times. I suppose none of us will ever know the answer.

what we do know is the news media has really over done this story. It seems every few months they pick another tragic story like flesh eating bacteria or some other misfortune and run it non stop both in print and on tv. I feel great sympathy for this family but living every moment of this in full view of the public can't be a good thing!

God doesn't "try" to do anything. If God had called Tripp, he would be gone now. While this seems cruel to prolong Tripp's life, Tripp's final calling is not up to us.

I just recently became aware of this story. I actually believe in miracles. Sometimes putting this story in public view would allow someone that has faith to believe God for a miracle to pray for Tripp. In the book of John, chapter 14, verse 12, Jesus Christ encourages his followers to continue the work that he started which included working miracles and healing the sick. I witness miracles being performed as a child and have received a miracle and healings in my own body. I've also prayed for others which has resulted in healings and miracles. I saw this young man's story on Facebook recently. Seeing it here now makes me aware that this young man lives in GA. I choose to believe that this young man will have victory over his ailments and his brain will be completely restore to normal. I look forward to the testimony that will be published that all signs of the ailments that he had been suffering are gone and he is functioning completely normal.
