Firefighters douse vehicle fire

Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish heavy fire coming from a passenger van just after 2 p.m. off Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road in Suwanee.

A Suwanee Police officer was the first to respond to the parking lot of a Cinnabon and Schlotzky's under construction where smoke could be seen in the distance.

Within minutes, firefighters arrived and put out the fire. No injuries were reported.

According to officials, the fire originated in the vehicle's engine compartment and spread throughout. It belonged to one of the contractors at the site and is a total loss.

Officials say the exact cause is undetermined.
