DULUTH -- Both of North Gwinnett's cross country teams posted top-10 finishes at last weekend's Gwinnett County Championships, held at the River Green Complex in Duluth.
Courtney Czerniak, a Daily Post Super Six selection, was among the top runners at the meet with a sixth-place finish. She completed the course in 19 minutes, 35 seconds. Only five seconds separated the fourth- to sixth-place finishers.
Czerniak's effort helped the North girls team to a fifth-place finish with 160 points. Brookwood (34) won the meet, followed by Peachtree Ridge (72), Mill Creek (107), Wesleyan (148) and North.
Jordi Harrison (20:35), Sidney Sheppard (20:53), Natalie Raia (20:58), Caroline Shimkus (21:51), Kathleen Wilson (22:22) and Bridget Nabb (22:38) also contributed for the North girls team.
The Bulldogs placed seventh in the boys competition with 187 points, finishing behind Mill Creek (59), Norcross (71), Brookwood (89), Peachtree Ridge (111), Collins Hill (123) and Parkview (142).
North's boys contributors were Andres Littig (16:54), Spencer Bradham (16:55), Tony Jones (17:26), Jeramey Hampton (17:27), Cole York (18:00), Trevor Bradham (18:35) and Jake McCullar (18:39).
