GAB: North Gwinnett Cooperative plans ribbon cutting

A faith-based, nonprofit organization that provides food, clothing, lights, heat, water and prescription medication assistance to senior citizens and those with low income levels has scheduled its ribbon cutting ceremony for 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

The new headquarters for the North Gwinnett Cooperative is at 4395 Commerce Drive, Buford.

Registration is $100 per individual and $400 per foursome. Registration includes tournament entry, breakfast, entry in the hole-in-one contest, entry in the longest drive contest, the awards luncheon, snacks during the tournament and participant gift bags.LAWRENCEVILLE -- The Aurora Theatre Charity Golf Tournament is scheduled for 9 a.m. Oct. 8 at Northwood Country Club, 3157 Club Drive, Lawrenceville. Proceeds go to support the theatre's many community programs.

The tournament focuses on the "wackier side of golf" with unconventionally themed holes. Among them are a Heckle Hole, Tequila Shot Hole, Karaoke Hole and a Crazy Costume Hole.

There will be prizes for the longest drive, closest to pin, hole-in-one and more. After hitting the links, guests will enjoy a lunch and the opportunity to bid on valuable merchandise like golf outings and theater tickets.

Check in for the event is at 7:30 a.m. Entry fees are $100 for an individual player and $400 for a foursome.
