LAWRENCEVILLE -- With the Gwinnett Great Days of Service less than a week away, there is still time to sign up for the several volunteer opportunities open for the two-day Oct. 5-6.
Volunteers can sign up in groups with their families, large corporations, churches, businesses, schools and sports teams. Individuals are also encouraged to join the event.
Previous projects ranged from repair work around buildings, installing playground sets, planting trees and cleaning nature trails.

Most volunteer hours are from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Registration for the event closes Wednesday at midnight.
