Fans Choice Player of the Week

Mountain View running back Marvin Elam won online voting this week as the Daily Post's Fans Choice Player of the Week.
The senior running back got 50 percent of the vote to win a competition with Greater Atlanta Christian's Rafe Chapple (33 percent), Lanier's Tario Fuller (11 percent) and Parkview's Chris Carson (6 percent).
Each week during the football season, the Daily Post will nominate four players for its Fans Choice Player of the Week. Online voting at www.gwinnettprepsports.com will begin Monday mornings and will end Thursdays at noon. The winner will be featured online and in the Friday print edition.
Elam earned the honor after rushing for 140 yards and two touchdowns in last Friday's win over Habersham Central.
"I'm real happy for Marvin," Mountain View head coach Doug Giacone said. "He's been a steady contributor for us throughout his career. If you look at last year and this year, he's got about 100 more yards this year than at this point last year and he has a few more catches. I'm really happy for him that's he's having such a good senior year."
