LAWRENCEVILLE -- Turn those dollars into chips and find a spot at the tables because the Northeast Atlanta Ballet hosts its third annual gala event on Saturday at Lawrenceville's Northwood Country Club. This year's theme is Casino Royale.

As a celebration of the company's 16th season in Lilburn, it is inviting the public to its annual gala in hopes to raise $25,000.

There will be a live jazz trio on site performing throughout the evening. When guests arrive, they will be escorted by costumed performers through the Las Vegas style slot machines to an area with a champagne reception, cocktails and hors d'oeuvres.

Later in the evening, guests will be allowed into the grand hall where several tables are set up with games, including black jack, poker, craps and roulette.

Throughout the event, attendees have a chance to bid against each other in a silent auction on the main promenade. Sports memorabilia, vacation packages and other goodies are up for grabs -- at least for the high rollers.

The night will end with a performance by several alumni dancers of the Northeast Atlanta Ballet and a dessert presentation.

The ballet company's next performance is "The Nutcracker" at the Gwinnett Center Nov. 23 through 25.

The Northeast Atlanta Ballet was founded by Jennifer Gordon, a Georgia State University alumni and former member of the Atlanta Ballet, "in response to the community's need for high quality, affordable cultural experiences," according to the nonprofit's website.
