WASHINGTON, Ga. (AP) -- A Georgia sheriff says the death of a deer hunter in Wilkes County is considered a homicide.
Authorities say 35-year-old Jeffrey Sean Gebhardt's body was found by a Georgia State Patrol helicopter after he called the sheriff's office Saturday night, saying he was lost.
The Blairsville hunter was found in an area of marsh and grass that is normally underwater but was exposed because of the low level of a lake.
Wilkes County Sheriff Mark Moore declined to release additional details. The county is about 100 miles east of Atlanta.
