LAWRENCEVILLE -- Since May 25, the city of Lawrenceville has hosted a series of free concerts at the Gwinnett Historic Courthouse called Moonlight & Music. During the summer, Shawn Mullins, Sons of Sailors, Grains of Sand and Abbey Road LIVE! have performed for audiences.
On Friday, the series comes to an end with '80s cover band, The Highballs. The Athens based group is comprised of five performers who cover everything from Blondie to The Outfield to Joan Jett and The Blackhearts.
During the performance, patrons can either reserve a table by calling 678-226-2639 in advance or sit on the lawn for free. Those in the lawn are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets and picnics. Alcohol is not allowed at the event.
Although the concert is free, organizers are asking attendees to bring canned goods and non-perishable items to donate to local food banks.
The concert begins at 8 p.m., but the lawn opens to the public at 6:30 p.m.
