CHATSWORTH (AP) -- Authorities say a 2-year-old boy is dead in northeast Georgia after a mobile home caught fire while the child was left alone inside.
State Insurance and Fire Commissioner Ralph Hudgens says investigators suspect the Murray County fire started in the home's kitchen Wednesday. The boy who was killed was identified as 2-year-old Jose Arriasola.
Hudgens says the boy's mother, 23-year-old Marialla Gurrero, told authorities she left a pot of grease warming on the stove when she left her son alone to run an errand next door.
The exact cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Murray County sheriff and firefighters.
