LOGANVILLE -- A George Walton Academy middle school student remains in critical but stable condition at Egleston Children's Hospital, three days after collapsing at football practice.
On Thursday, the family of Jon Ross Snell sent messages of thanks to the community, for the "huge outpouring" of concern and prayers.
Parents Van and Nan Snell and sister Peyton "have been surrounded by a host of family, friends and community that have given them invaluable support and love over the past three days," a family statement said.
"Their faith is steadfast that God's healing hand will be with Jon Ross throughout his recovery," the statement continued.
Snell lost consciousness at practice Monday, a day after Buford High School basketball player Adam Smith died after collapsing at a pre-season workout.
