PREP ROUNDUP: Walk-off triple leads Peachtree Ridge past Collins Hill 6-5

SUWANEE -- Sarah Walker hit a two-run triple to right-center field in the seventh inning to lead Peachtree Ridge past Collins Hill 6-5 on Thursday.

Quinn Hill got the win for the Lions (17-2), pitching three innings, giving up a run and striking out one. Her record is now 9-2, and the Lions own sole possession of first place.

Walker started the game and pitched four innings, gave up three earned runs and struck out two.

Sam Pierannunzi went 1-for-2 with three runs and two stolen bases, and Savanna Turvy was 1-for-3 with two RBIs. Kayla Jones was 1-for-3 with an RBI, and Walker was 1-for-2 with 3 RBIs.

Amanda Chance pitched one inning for the Lions, giving up three runs off two hits and two walks. Asia Miles pitched six and gave up 3 runs on two hits and five walks.

Payton Wilson went 3-for-3, hitting her first home run and driving in two runs. Laine Simmons went 3-for-4 with two RBIs, and Reagan Morgan went 2-for-4.


Mill Creek 8, Duluth 7

DULUTH -- The Wildcats scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh, but it wasn't enough in Mill Creek's 8-7 win on Thursday.

Heather Selt (6-4) got the win for the Hawks (13-7, 3-2 Region 7-AAAAAA). She pitched five innings, gave up six hits and two runs. Kaytlin Howell came on in relief and got her second save of the season.

Kenzer Fagidi was 2-for-3 with a triple and three runs, and Sarah Perry went 1-for-2 with a double.

Christina Evans was 1-for-3 with a double and two RBIs, and Morgan Bell went 3-for-4 with a home run, double and three RBIs.

Cassie Cooker and Toni Perrucci led Duluth (13-6, 2-3 Region 7-AAAAAA) with 3-for-4 performances. Perrucci also drove in two runs. Reina Sycamore went 2-for-4, Amanda Simpson was 1-for-2 with a home run and two RBIs, and Megan Sheridan was 1-for-1.

North 12, Mountain View 5

LAWRENCEVILLE -- North Gwinnett broke open a 4-4 game with eight runs in the seventh en route to a 12-5 win over Mountain View on Thursday.

Hannah Harrison (3-2) got the win for the Bulldogs (12-14-2, 4-1 Region 7-AAAAAA), going seven innings, giving up four hits and striking out nine.

Kendall McKinney was the star on offense, hitting a solo home run and a three-run homer in the seventh inning. She ended the game with three hits.

Draven Sonnon and Mallory Koepke had three hits, Alaina Hall had two hits, Lindsey Cobb drove in two runs and Moriah Strother drove in a run.

Dacula 2, West Forsyth 1

DACULA -- Lexi McKnight drove in the game-winning run for Dacula with a sacrifice in its 2-1 win over West Forsyth on Thursday in the Brookwood Tournament.

Kendra Pfister improved to 6-3 with her performance in the circle, striking out five batters.

Katie McMillan went 1-for-2 and drove in a run for the Falcons (10-8-1, 2-3 Region 8-AAAAAA).

Habersham Central 11, Norcross 3

NORCROSS -- Habersham Central defeated Norcross 11-3 on Thursday.

Vanessa Bradford pitched six innings for the Blue Devils (6-10) in the loss, giving up just two earned runs.

Bradford went 2-for-3 at the plate with a run and an RBI.

Buford 9, North Hall 0

GAINESVILLE -- Bria Bush (12-1) pitched her 11th complete game in Buford's 9-0 win over North Hall in five innings Thursday.

The shutout was Bush's fourth of the year. She allowed two hits and walked two, while striking out six for the Wolves (18-1, 6-0 Region 7-AAA).

Jordan Deep was 2-for-3 with a home run, a double, two runs and two RBIs, and Tessa Daniels went 2-for-3 with two RBIs.

Remington Hasty went 1-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and a run, and Bayley Sexton was 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs.

Athens Christian 5, Providence 3

LILBURN -- Athens Christian topped Providence 5-3 in eight innings on Thursday.

MacKenzie Tuttle picked up the loss for the Storm (4-15, 2-6 Region 8-A), pitching all eight innings, giving up four hits, two earned runs and two walks while striking out two.

Tuttle went 2-for-4 at the plate with an RBI, and her sister, Brittany Tuttle, went 2-for-3 with a walk, two stolen bases and two runs.

Jessie Kowalewicz went 1-for-3 with two RBIs, and Alex Kennedy was 1-for-3 with a double.

Wesleyan 13, Westminster 1

ATLANTA -- Amanda De La Perriere got the win for Wesleyan in a 13-1 victory over Westminster on Thursday.

De La Perriere pitched two innings for the Wolves (20-4, 5-0 Region 6-AA), gave up two hits, one earned run and struck out three. Haley Gleerup pitched two scoreless innings with a hit and two strikeouts.

Sydney Stone went 2-for-4 at the plate with a double, a walk and two runs, and CaraMia Tsirigos went 1-for-2 with two walks, a double and four RBIs.

Victoria DiStasi went 2-for-3 with a walk, triple, three RBIs and a run, and Katie Frerking went 2-for-3 with a walk, two runs, stolen base and an RBI.


Mill Creek wins pool at county

LOGANVILLE -- Mill Creek won its three matchups Thursday in the Gwinnett County Championships, beating Archer, Grayson and Hebron in two sets each.

Emily Wylie led the Hawks (30-4) with 23 kills, Cayla Graham had 18 kills and Kaitlyn Lattimer added 37 assists.

Brittany Moore had 16 digs, Carley Eiken had 27 assists and eight aces, and Nina Orr had five aces.

Hebron won games against Grayson and Archer before falling to Mill Creek.

Eden Murray led the Lions (23-9) with 25 kills, seven blocks and three aces. Bridgette Oduro had 12 kills, and Ashleigh Thomas had 10 kills.

Alli Johnson had eight kills, two blocks and three aces, and Anna Katherine Wilson had 59 assists and five aces.

Archer pulled out a win against Grayson in pool play and is now 12-10.

Jannell Whitfield led the Tigers with 10 kills and five blocks, and Meagan Roberts had nine kills.

Tiffany Cash had 23 assists and a kill, Machaela Sheffield had three kills and three aces, and Danae Jones had three kills and a block.

Norcross wins pool in tournament

SUWANEE -- Norcross defeated Buford and Peachtree Ridge in two sets Thursday, giving the Blue Devils (26-3) a pool victory in the Gwinnett County Championships.

Sydney Marshall led Norcross with 16 kills, and Kolby Meeks added 10 kills.

Lindsay Holmes had 13 digs and nine aces, and Sarah Ann Gratwick had 12 assists.

Buford won in its matchup with Peachtree Ridge.

The Wolves (12-12) were led by Maggie Roper's 12 kills and nine digs. Kaitlin Tatum added five kills and four blocks.

Tori Payton had 22 assists, and Mikhayla Riegel had 18 digs.

Wesleyan tops in championship pool

SUGAR HILL -- With a three-set win over Providence and two-set wins over Lanier and Shiloh, Wesleyan won its pool Thursday at the Gwinnett County Championships.

Katie Van Laeke led the Wolves (20-9) with 18 kills and six aces, followed by Lauren Frerking's 16 kills and six aces.

Hannah Hoskin had 11 aces, 11 kills and 14 digs, Natalie Connor had 10 digs, and Kendra Koetter had 50 assists and 10 digs.

Providence fell against Shiloh in three sets but got a win over Lanier in two sets.

Maddie Jones led the Storm (17-9) with 33 kills. Erin Yost had 21 kills, and Katie Scott had 27 assists.

Shiloh won its matchup with Lanier. The Generals (13-6) were led by Gloria Watson, who had four aces, 25 kills, a solo block, and assisted block and a dig, and Jacqueline Harris, who had three aces, two kills, 25 assists, two solo blocks, two assisted blocks and two digs.

Briana Stith had five aces, seven kills and three solo blocks, and Brianna Campbell had six aces, 10 kills, an assist, six solo blocks and an assited block.

Desiree Aighobahi had an assited block and a dig, Angelique Little had three kills, two solo blocks and two assisted blocks, and Keia Evans and Erika Lewis each had three digs.

GAC takes first in county pool

LAWRENCEVILLE -- Greater Atlanta Christian beat Mountain View and Parkview on Thursday to win its pool at the Gwinnett County Championships.

Tayler McPherson led the Spartans (17-7) with 20 kills. Madison Kerr had 13 kills, and Emma Taylor had 11 kills.

Emily Becker had 21 digs, and Jennie McCarty had 44 assists.

Mountain View beat Parkview to finish second in the pool.

Parkview was led by Alli Taylor, who had 17 digs, and Taylor Stewart, who had two kills and 12 digs.

Brookwood wins three for top spot in pool

LILBURN -- Brookwood defeated Berkmar and South in two sets and Collins Hill in three to finish on top of its pool Thursday in the Gwinnett County Championships.

Leslie Stinnett led the Broncos (15-15) with 19 kills, four aces and four blocks. Maggie Collins added 18 kills, an ace and seven blocks.

Nicole Blanding had 17 kills, and Kendall Hardy had 13 kills, four blocks and two aces.

Collins Hill defeated South Gwinnett and Berkmar in pool play.

Sam Rivera had 19 kills for the Eagles (9-11), and Courtney Oster had 13 kills and 15 assists.

Jennifer Ahslwede had seven aces and 22 assists, and Haley Cook had 21 digs and four aces.

North finishes first in county pool

DULUTH -- North Gwinnett beat Central Gwinnett, Duluth and Dacula to claim the top spot in its pool on Thursday in the Gwinnett County Championships.

Natalie Stout had 14 kills, and Miller Howard had 13 kills for the Bulldogs (29-5). Kristina Stinson had 12 kills and eight aces, and Matia Hughes had 28 assists.

Duluth took second in the pool with wins over Dacula and Central.
