Wesleyan linebacker Rhett Delk won online voting this week as the Daily Post's Fans Choice Player of the Week.

The senior linebacker got 42 percent of the vote to win a competition with Brookwood's Shaun McGee (40 percent), Collins Hill's Brett Sheehan (9 percent) and Lanier's Taylor Grant (8 percent).

Each week during the football season, the Daily Post will nominate four players for its Fans Choice Player of the Week. Online voting at www.gwinnettprepsports.com will begin Monday mornings and will end Thursdays at noon. The winner will be featured online and in the Friday print edition.

Delk earned the honor after making 11 tackles, five for losses, intercepting a pass, recording a safety and punting for a 42-yard average in the Wolves' 30-19 over Stone Mountain.

"Rhett is the kid that every coach wants on their team," Wesleyan head coach Franklin Pridgen said. "Of course he is a fantastic player who can always be counted on at crunch time to come through but more than that his poise and self-discipline pays off in the classroom and around campus too. He leads everyone around him in a positive direction. Every word out of his mouth sounds like 'Let me do more to help.' He's an incredible young man.".
