ATHENS (AP) -- University of Georgia officials say Home Depot founder Arthur M. Blank will be the graduation speaker for the school's fall 2012 undergraduate commencement
The ceremony is set for Dec. 14 at Stegeman Coliseum. Blank will be awarded an honorary doctor of laws degree during the ceremony.
UGA faculty member Fran Teague will be the commencement speaker for graduate students, who have their commencement the same day. Teague is a professor in UGA's English and theatre and film studies departments.
Blank, who also owns the Atlanta Falcons, is a well-known philanthropist. The Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation has awarded grants of more than $250 million in support of education, arts and more since he established it in 1995.
