Two local high schools, Lanier and Peachtree Ridge, will host Military Appreciation Night during Friday's varsity football games.
Lanier's celebration, in conjunction with the Longhorns' first-ever region football game vs. Madison County, will feature a number of special ceremonies involving fans and the players. Military personnel with ID or in uniform will receive free admission along with a free ticket for a friend and family member, as well as a free meal.
Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. and the pre-game festivities begin at 7 p.m.
Peachtree Ridge's event also has several ceremonies planned to honor the military, including a flyover of helicopters from Warner Robins to conclude the National Anthem. Like Lanier, all military personnel will receive free admission and a free meal.
The pre-game events begin at 7 p.m. at Peachtree Ridge with kickoff at 7:30 p.m. The Lions host Mill Creek in the football matchup.
