Another member of Grayson's star-studded defense made a college choice on Wednesday night.

Defensive back Kasey Gaines committed to Penn State over offers from Harvard, Miami (Ohio) and several Division I-FCS schools, his father Kevin confirmed.

Gaines joins teammates Robert Nkemdiche (Clemson), Wayne Gallman (Clemson), David Kamara (Clemson), Jack Banda (Arizona) and Zachary Barnes (Tennessee) as college commitments for the defending state champions.

The 5-foot-11, 160-pound Gaines was recruited by former Central Gwinnett standout and Penn State assistant Ted Roof. Gaines has made 12 tackles and one pass break up this season.

Gaines had five interceptions last year, including one returned for a touchdown in the Rams' win over 2010 state champion Brookwood.

The Rams were ranked No. 1 in the nation by ESPN.com last week before losing 22-7 to Parkview. Grayson (2-1) plays Dacula on Friday.
