PREP ROUNDUP: Third-ranked Mill Creek sweeps fifth-ranked North

HOSCHTON -- Emily Wylie tallied 10 kills and four blocks and Cayla Graham added 11 kills with eight digs in helping third-ranked Mill Creek to a pair of wins on Tuesday night.

Both wins were against Area 6-AAAAAA opponents as the Hawks swept Habersham Central and fifth-ranked North Gwinnett.

Other standouts for the Hawks (32-4, 4-0) were Nina Orr (six digs), Audrey Hoffman (nine kills, 3.5 blocks), Brittany Moore (six digs), Trinity Garmon (seven kills), Danielle Gattorno (four digs) and Kaitlyn Lattimer (26 assists).

Mountain View outlasts Eagles and Peachtree Ridge

LAWRENCEVILLE -- Mountain View survived two marathon matches on Tuesday night to post two wins, beating Collins Hill in three games 25-13, 22-25, 25-23 and Peachtree Ridge 25-17, 30-32, 29-27.

The wins bumped Mountain View's record up to 13-15 overall and 3-1 in Area 6-AAAAAA.

Brookwood stays unbeaten in Area 7-AAAAAA

LAWRENCEVILLE -- Brookwood improved to 12-15 overall and 3-0 in Area 7-AAAAAA on Tuesday night as the Broncos beat Central Gwinnett (25-7, 25-5) and Loganville (25-13, 25-12).

Leslie Stinnett led the attack with 10 kills, two aces and one block, while Maggie Collins added 10 kills and 1.5 blocks. Farrah Butter tallied nine kills and two aces, while Hannah Kitchen finished with 36 assists, six aces and four kills.

Central (2-21, 0-3) made a run at finishing its night with a split but came up short, losing in two games to Loganville 25-17, 25-16.

Grayson tops Berkmar

LOGANVILLE -- Grayson improved to 8-10 overall and 3-0 in Area 7-AAAAAA on Tuesday night with a three-game sweep of Berkmar, topping the Patriots 25-14, 25-20, 25-16.

Leading the Rams with 15 assists was Geordyn Jenkins, while Dominique Murry pounded seven kills. Lauren Siegmann also served well with five aces.

Meadowcreek sweeps Newton

NORCROSS -- Meadowcreek faced two Area 8-AAAAAA opponents on Tuesday night and came away with one win and one loss, sweeping Newton but falling in two games to Alcovy.

The win improved the Mustangs to 4-12 overall and 2-4 in the area.

Shiloh tops Newton and Alcovy

NORCROSS -- Shiloh squared off with Newton and Alcovy on Tuesday night and posted two sweeps, beating Newton 25-14, 25-11 and Alcovy 25-15, 25-21 in Area 8-AAAAAA action at Meadowcreek.

Leaders for the Generals (11-5, 4-2) were Gloria Watson with 12 kills, Erika Lewis with 32 digs, Kyana Palmer with 17 digs, seven assists and five aces, Jacquelin Harris with 43 assists, four kills and four aces, Brianna Campbell with 10 kills and six blocks and Desiree Aighobahi with 13 digs.

Archer splits, Parkview sweeps

DACULA -- Archer's overall record moved to 11-8 on Tuesday night as the Tigers ended their night with a split virtue of a two-game sweep over Dacula and a loss in three games to Parkview.

Machaela Sheffield led the Tigers with five kills and three aces, while Jannell Whitfield tallied nine kills, seven blocks and five aces. Other contributors were Tiffany Cash with 16 assists, eight aces and three kills, Akua Obneg-Akrofi with six kills and Avery Taylor with five aces.

Parkview, which beat Archer 18-25, 25-13, 25-20, also knocked off Dacula 32-30, 25-16. Riley Weyher led the Panthers (9-11, 2-0) with 19 kills, 16 digs and two aces, while Cori Harber paced the offense with 49 assists. Meredith Pounds added 11 kills and an ace, while Ally Peatroff chipped in 13 kills, five digs, 1.5 blocks and two aces.

Norcross tops South and Rockdale

ATLANTA -- Tenth-ranked Norcross notched two more wins on Tuesday, topping South Gwinnett (25-14, 25-16) and Rockdale (21-25, 25-17, 25-11) in Area 8-AAAAAA action at Druid Hills.

Sydney Marshall tallied 20 kills and 10 digs for the Blue Devils (24-3, 6-0), while Shelby King recorded 13 kills. Sammie Baker dished out 30 assists and served 16 aces, while Lindsay Holmes led the defense with 13 digs.

Hebron extends win streak to six

DACULA -- Hebron ran its winning streak to six straight matches on Tuesday with wins over Tallulah Falls (25-5, 25-12) and Providence (25-17, 25-18) in Area 6-A action. Hebron capped off its sweeps of Providence by overcoming an eight-point deficit in the second game.

Leading Hebron (21-8, 3-1) was Eden Murray with 21 kills and four blocks. Other contributors in kills were Ashleigh Thomas with eight and Alli Johnson with seven, while Anna Katherine Wilson delivered 39 assists.

SOFTBALL

Grayson 3, Parkview 1

LILBURN --Jen Spangler and Peyton Glover teamed up to keep the Parkview bats at bay Monday night, giving Grayson a 3-1 win in the Region 8-AAAAAA showdown.

Spangler pitched four scoreless innings, allowing two hits and striking out two. Glover went the final three innings for the save.

The Rams (10-11) were led offensively by Taylor Denton (1-for-4), Stephanie Snyder (1-for-2, RBI), Rachel Seasholtz (1-for-2) and Spangler (1-for-3, RBI).

Peachtree Ridge 14, Flowery Branch 2

FLOWERY BRANCH --Sam Pierannunzi's huge offensive night powered Peachtree Ridge to a 14-2 blowout win Monday at Flowery Branch.

The Georgia Tech commitment was 4-for-4 with a home run, a triple, six RBIs and a stolen base for the Lions (16-2).

Sarah Walker (9-0) pitched five innings and gave up only two runs and also was 2-for-4 at the plate.

Kayla Jones (2-for-4, RBI) and Andie McGregor (3-for-4, three RBIs) also had big games for Peachtree Ridge.
