LAWRENCEVILLE -- Canton resident and author Christine Orenic-Ward will be signing copies of her book "Silent No More" from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 22 at Rhodes Jordan Park Community Recreation Center, 100 E. Crogan St., Lawrenceville.
According to Tate Publishing and Enterprises, the novel follows the story "of a woman's struggle to make sense of her past and create a better future for herself and her daughter."

BUFORD -- A local parish is hosting a community event from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 22 at the Super Car Wash Business located at 2546 Braselton Highway, Buford.
Those who live in the community are invited to bring their car out and the church will pay for their car to be washed through the machine.
The event is sponsored by the Hermon Mar Thoma Church in Lawrenceville. The church traces its roots back to Kerela, India. The Mar Thoma Church was founded by Saint Thomas, the disciple of Jesus Christ.
